John Paul Wooden
John Paul Wooden is the Vice President of Treasury & Tax at CoreCivic, where he has spent more than 20 years in progressive roles across Accounting and Treasury. He brings deep expertise in corporate finance, treasury operations, and tax, with a career grounded in both public accounting and industry leadership. Prior to joining CoreCivic, John Paul worked in public accounting with Ernst & Young, LLP and Arthur Andersen, LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned both his undergraduate degree and Master of Accounting from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
John Paul and his wife, Lori, both native Tennesseans, have been married for more than 20 years, and are proud parents of twin daughters. The Wooden family are active members of their church for over 15 years, where Lori serves as a youth leader and John Paul serves on the Finance Ministry Team, supporting the church’s financial operations and budget oversight. In addition to his professional responsibilities, John Paul also serves as Treasurer of the CoreCivic Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, which supports former offenders, victims of crime and abuse, and underserved youth.
